چکیده
This study aims to investigate the mathematical concept of Sigale-gale statue so that it can be utilized as an instructional resource in mathematics. The employs qualitative approaches using ethnographic approach. researcher served data collector for study, and informants were Batak people. Primary data-gathering methods include observation, interviews, documentation, comprehensive literature reviews. analysis technique is descriptive form reduction, presentation, conclusion drawing. results revealed Sculpture contains concepts such plane geometry, spatial reflection transformation, dilation angles. Ethnomathematics innovation well a breath fresh air classroom learning process used are not monotonous, ethnomathematics-based models, student worksheets, visual videos illustrate on Statue used, thereby increasing motivation interest, outcomes also increasing.

Ethnomathematics: A Multicultural View of Mathematical Ideas (Marcia Ascher)
In this truly one-of-a-kind book, Ascher introduces the mathematical ideas of people in traditional, or small-scale, cultures often omitted from discussion of mathematics. Topics such as Numbers: Words and Symbols, Tracing Graphs in the Sand, The Logic of Kin Relations, Chance and Strategy in Games and Puzzles, and The Organization and Modeling of Space are traced in various cultures including ...
متن کاملEthnomathematics and Cooperativism
Ethnomathematics is generally concerned with the resolution of practical problems and thus it is natural to investigate how this new science can be combined with cooperativism in order to foster sustained economic development. It is maintained that one way of developing this kind of investigation would include some business mathematics, informal logic and practical ethics. A project, implemente...
متن کاملMathematical Concepts and Definitions
I Definition and Mathematical Practice The basic observation structuring this survey is that mathematicians often set finding the “right” / “proper” / “correct” / “natural” definition as a research objective, and success finding “the proper” definition can be counted as a significant advance in knowledge. Remarks like these from a retrospective on twentieth century algebraic geometry are common:
متن کاملA Mathematical Theory of Optimal Economic Development by David Gale
1. Introduction. The general aim of this article is twofold ; first, to show by means of examples the kinds of mathematical problems which arise from economic situations, and second, to illustrate the principal methods by which these problems can be attacked. I have endeavored to present this material in a manner appropriate both for the general mathematician and the mathematically oriented eco...
متن کاملMathematical Concepts and Physical Objects
Introduction (with F. Bailly) With this text, we will first of all discuss a distinction, internal to mathematics, between "construction principles" and "proof principles" (see [Longo, 1999], [Longo, 2002]). In short, it will be a question of grasping the difference between the construction of mathematical concepts and structures and the role of proof, more or less formalised. The objective is ...
